Throughout July, England plays host to some of the world’s best and most exciting footballers, as the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 tournament takes place at stadiums up and down the country.

Football Ramble Presents: Upfront is a dedicated women’s football podcast, hosted by Flo Lloyd-Hughes, Chloe Morgan and Rachel O'Sullivan. Ahead of the tournament, Acast’s Nick Harnett asked for their exclusive insights and predictions.
Nick: So, let’s have it. Who’s going to win the Euros?
Rachel: Sweden. Probably have the best form in the last few years. They have experience in big matches having reached the Olympic finals and latter stages of the World Cup. They have a good blend of youth and experience.
Nick: Who’s taking home the Golden Boot?
Flo: Lauren Hemp. She's in ridiculous form and even though she hasn't scored that many goals for England, she's going to light up this tournament.
Nick: What about dark horses? Which team is going to surprise people?
Chloe: A toss-up between Spain and Norway. Obviously, Spain have a lot of the top players in the world in their squad but have never progressed far in a major tournament, which for me makes them dark horses. They're also in a tricky group, so will need to be at their best to even progress into the latter stages. Norway, too, with the talent in that squad and Ada Hegerberg back — if they can click, they could be very dangerous.
Nick: What about players to watch? Who’s set to light up the tournament, and why?
Rachel: Like Flo says, I think a player we will talk about a lot this tournament will be Lauren Hemp. She has been in electric form and stood out for England in the last 12 months. Hard to believe she's still only 21.
Nick: Finally, the biggest question, how are the Lionesses going to get on?
Rachel: This is probably their best chance to win a major tournament, in terms of squad depth and preparedness. I think the team has really improved under Sarina Wiegman. In saying that, so many other teams around Europe have vastly improved too, so to win this tournament is going to be very, very tough. It is, though, the most excited I've been about an England team.
